FM Frequency Converter - Euro post 2002Price: $34.95 The late model European FM Band Expander is designed especially to meet the needs of late model European vehicles (manufactured since 2002). By having the correct plugs as part of the unit, it is fitted between the radio and aerial, without the need for adaptor plugs. When European cars are exported, the FM section of the car stereo will not work locally because the Japanese FM band is unique.
International FM Band's bandwidth is 20Mhz ( 88Mhz-108Mhz) compared to Japanese FM Band's bandwidth only 14Mhz wide ( 76Mhz-90Mhz ). You need a convertor which subtracts a fixed frequency from the local station to enable the FM section of the radio to work. The AM frequency in Japan & Aust/NZ are the same & the convertor lets AM signals go straight through.
Full installation instructions are provided with the packaging. Installation takes about 5 - 10 mins.
Choose 14 & 28Mhz shift if you live in a large city with many radio stations.
Choose 10 & 20Mhz shift for easier station calculation, if you live in a less populated area.
The dimensions of this unit are 32mm x 22mm, with a depth of 18mm.
