FM Frequency Converter - JapanPrice: $19.95 When Japanese cars are exported, the FM section of the car stereo will not work locally because the Japanese FM band is unique.
International FM Band's bandwidth is 20Mhz ( 88Mhz-108Mhz) compared to Japanese FM Band's bandwidth only 14Mhz wide ( 76Mhz-90Mhz ). You need a converter which subtracts a fixed frequency from the local station to enable the FM section of the radio to work. The AM frequency in Japan & Aust/NZ are the same & the convertor lets AM signals go straight through.
Full installation instructions are provided with the packaging. Installation takes about 5 - 10 mins.
Choose 14 & 28Mhz shift if you live in a large city with many radio stations.
Choose 10 & 20Mhz shift for easier station calculation, if you live in a less populated area.
